Character Name: Caboose
Real Life Name: Drew
I met God when?: At age 4
I started acting when?: From the moment I entered this world. I’ve found acting has kept me out of more trouble, then again, it’s also gotten me into a lot of trouble.
When I’m not acting on Coffeeteria I am: Hopefully working on another project.
I really love the show/movie/play? Golden Girls, Pokemon, Sesame Street (Season 11) Can Do Cameron
Favorite Bible Verse?: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
Lifeway Product you’d like to plug?: The Bible, I know it’s one of their bestsellers, but you just never know… so I’m plugging the bible hard back or soft back…Pick up your copy today!
Favorite Coffee Drink: I like to take the grounds and add some strawberry and fresh yogurt and make a killer smoothie… no, that’s gross. I don’t drink a lot of coffee, but if did, I would prefer it to be hot.
I’m like my character in that: I drive a Porsche.
I’m not like my character in that: I don’t drive a Porsche.
If I could write an episode of Coffeeteria I would: Wow Steve must be running out of ideas.
Favorite Scene to shoot (To Date)?: Night scene (Nashville skyline)
Yeah, I remember that! Some potentially ”awkward turtle” moments during those scenes with Caroline (Emma)… response?
Caroline is the consummate professional. She is the furthest thing from an awkward turtle.
How would you end Coffeeteria? Barrett discovers that a giant meteor is hurtling towards earth at a fantastic rate of speed, and Aaron and Caboose combine forces to lead a team of brave souls to blast off from earth and actually land on the meteor where they drill into the monstrosity, plant nukes and get out of there. Unfortunately something goes wrong after they plant the nukes, and Caboose finally becomes the man he knows he should be, and he stays on the meteor to detonate the bomb, but only before he tells Aaron that Emma has always loved him, and that he should take care of her forever. Aaron cries like a girl, Caboose looks awesome… and then he dies. But the world is saved.
Best direction I have been give (To Date)?: “Why don’t you know your lines!” Ok, it’s not really direction, but it just is so easy to understand.
Worst direction I have been given (To Date)?: “Just go over there and stand, and act…”
How attractive would you say your character is?: I don’t know, what do you think?
Oh Come on! This is a safe place… you can be honest about your muscle manly-ness. We won’t judge you…
On a scale from 1-100, I’d say the Boose is around an A- Dir. Steve Bussell certainly had a “mancrush” on the Boose, so there’s that.
Favorite Scene to watch (To Date)?: Anything with Aaron/Barrett I love their chemistry. Those dudes are good actors.
Speaking of Aaron [played by Jason]… I heard a rumor that you and Jason just shot a movie together! Do tell!
Yes! Jason and I were up in DC the months of May and June shooting a film that will hit theatres in 2011. It’s called “For the Glory”, and it should be fantastic! We both had roles that were eerily similar to Aaron and Caboose. In fact, my character’s name was Bruce…weird.
I was nervous to shoot this scene: The scene where Caboose was training with his dad, because it was like 95 outside and I think that Steve (director) was actually enjoying saying “Cut, Ok let’s do it again! … and again… and again…I was running a while.
Tell us a secret of yours when shooting Coffeeteria? I like to go off and “get into character” but really just trying to find some food.
Tell us a secret of yours you don’t want others to know. Come on you can trust us!: I’m not in high school.
Closing Statement you would like to make?: Being a teenager may be the hardest time of your life, but it also is the most rewarding. You really begin to learn about yourself, how to relate to your friends/enemies, and will make some tough choices. Never feel like you’re the only person in the world going through whatever you might be going through. Always be able to share your heart with someone… don’t ever lock anything inside. And know that ultimately you will be exactly where you need to be. We have a big God that loves us, and wants the absolute best for our lives. You are loved… and thanks for watching Coffeeteria!
Awwe, Drew… Such a softie! Who knew you were such a big teddy bear!
